Embat is a fast-growing FinTech startup building a real-time financial platform for mid-market and enterprise clients. You will own critical backend components, scale real-time balances, payments, FX, and credit capabilities, and drive end-to-end delivery in a hybrid Madrid environment.

You’ll collaborate with Product and stakeholders to translate business needs into robust technical solutions, write clean, maintainable code, and mentor junior engineers while improving engineering practices

Formación

• Background in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience as a Backend Engineer building scalable systems.
• Experience with payments/financial domains or high-reliability environments.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and system design fundamentals.
• High standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
• Ability to take ownership and work cross-functionally.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain scalable financial systems (real-time balances, payments, FX, credit).
• Own end-to-end delivery of features, from design to production.
• Contribute to architectural decisions to support rapid growth.
• Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.
• Write clean, well-tested code following engineering standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
