Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Security Research Engineer to lead threat research and shipping protections for Elastic Defend across Windows, macOS and Linux.

You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists and engineers across time zones, mentor junior engineers, and drive end‑to‑end security features that protect hundreds of millions of endpoints in a distributed environment.

Formación

• 6+ years of professional experience analyzing attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and building detection methods for real security threats.
• 6+ years of development experience in C, C++, and Python, with safe, fast and maintainable code in security-critical environments.
• Deep operating system internals knowledge, Windows focus with macOS/Linux depth.
• In-depth reverse engineering and malware analysis experience.
• An adversarial instinct to anticipate evasion and build resilient protections.
• Collaborative mentality and eagerness to learn new skills, platforms, and technologies.
• Proven track record using AI to accelerate development while owning outcomes.
• Autonomy to drive decisions in a distributed team with asynchronous communication.
• Passion for protecting the world's data from attack.

Responsabilidades

• Research attacker techniques and turn them into shipped protections.
• Extend endpoint visibility across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Develop production C/C++ code that runs on millions of endpoints.
• Reverse engineer malware and study evasion.
• Own efficacy end to end: review telemetry, investigate false positives, plan mitigations.
• Extend protection parity across platforms and architectures.
• Collaborate across Elastic Security with peers in multiple countries.
• Lead technical direction and mentor engineers across releases.
• Publish and present findings with Elastic Security Labs and at conferences.
