Elastic seeks a Senior Software Developer to join the Elasticsearch Security team. You will contribute to architecture and design of core security features, including authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation, working with engineers and product leaders to deliver high-performance security at scale.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
• Experience building scalable authorization systems with high concurrency.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems security, including zero-trust and cluster state propagation.
• Knowledge of edge identity protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML).
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to core security initiatives from architecture to production, focusing on new features.
• Plan, design, and implement major security components inside Elasticsearch core engine.
• Develop foundational security models for features.
• Optimize security performance in distributed systems environments.
• Apply cryptographic solutions to real customer use cases.
• Ensure robust data isolation within shared infrastructure.
• Monitor and adopt latest security best practices across authentication, crypto, and access management.
• Collaborate across teams to embed security in new customer features from the outset.
• Lead vulnerability management with InfoSec to identify and remediate risks.
• Leverage AI-driven tools to automate vulnerability triage and investigation.
