AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs. You will work closely with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams to deliver production-grade software.

The role requires deep Python knowledge, experience with microservices, and strong database/ORM skills. You will mentor teammates and contribute to architectural decisions while embracing a people-first culture.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend Python development experience.
• Deep understanding of Python core concepts (OOP, functional programming, memory management, async/concurrency, and data structures).
• API & Microservices: building and deploying production-grade REST APIs and distributed microservices architectures.
• Databases: relational databases (PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks.
• Testing: unit, integration, and end-to-end tests with Pytest.
• Version Control: Git and collaborative development workflows (PRs, branching, code reviews).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance microservices and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Write clean, well-tested code and promote modern Python practices (typing, async).
• Containerize applications with Docker and automate CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Design schemas and queries; work with ORMs (SQLAlchemy) across PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL where relevant.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services with a focus on security and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with product, DevOps, and frontend teams.
