AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs, collaborating with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams. You will own the backend stack, implement robust data models, write tests, and contribute to architecture decisions.

You should have 4+ years of Python backend experience, strong knowledge of APIs, databases (PostgreSQL), testing (pytest), and Git workflows. Remote and office options available in Spain.

Formación

• 4+ years of backend Python development experience.
• Deep understanding of Python core concepts (OOP, functional programming, memory management, async/concurrency, and data structures).
• API & Microservices: production-grade REST APIs and distributed microservices architectures.
• Databases: relational databases (PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., SQLAlchemy).
• Testing: unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Pytest.
• Version Control: Git and collaborative development workflows (PRs, branches, reviews).

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-tested code; conduct peer code reviews.
• Containerize applications with Docker and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Design schema models and write optimized SQL; work with ORMs (SQLAlchemy) and PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services with focus on low latency, high availability, and security.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and collaborate with frontend, product, and DevOps teams.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs, working closely with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams.

MUST HAVES

• 4+ years of professional backend software development experience using Python.
• Deep understanding of Python core concepts (OOP, functional programming, memory management, async/concurrency, and data structures).
• API & Microservices: Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade REST APIs and distributed microservices architectures.
• Databases: Strong proficiency with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and ORM frameworks.
• Testing: Commitment to writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using frameworks like Pytest.
• Version Control: Advanced proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (Pull Requests, branching strategies, code reviews).

NICE TO HAVES

• CI/CD & DevOps Tools: Solid hands-on experience with Docker (writing optimized Dockerfiles and Docker Compose).
• Highly desirable experience setting up and managing GitHub Actions workflows for automated testing and deployment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Python (e.g., FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
• Code Quality & Technical Standards: Write clean, readable, maintainable, and well-tested code. Conduct peer code reviews and promote modern Python practices (type hinting, async processing, design patterns).
• Containerization & CI/CD: Containerize applications using Docker and build/optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for seamless deployment.
• Database Management: Design schema models, write optimized SQL queries, and work with ORMs (e.g., SQLAlchemy) alongside relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
• System Integration & Scalability: Integrate third-party APIs and services while ensuring low latency, high availability, and strong security standards.
• Mentorship & Collaboration: Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams; mentor junior and mid-level engineers to elevate the team's overall technical capability.
