AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Python Developer to design and build scalable microservices and REST APIs, collaborating with Product, DevOps, and Frontend teams.

The role requires 4+ years of backend Python experience, deep knowledge of Python core concepts, and production-grade API/microservices expertise. Docker and GitHub Actions familiarity is a plus, with a flexible, hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend software development experience with Python.
• Deep understanding of Python core concepts (OOP, functional programming, memory management, async/concurrency, and data structures).
• API & Microservices: building and deploying production-grade REST APIs and distributed microservices.
• Databases: relational databases (PostgreSQL) and ORMs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices and RESTful APIs in Python.
• Write clean, well-tested code and promote modern Python practices (typing, async).
• Containerize applications with Docker and setup CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Design schemas and SQL queries and work with ORMs (SQLAlchemy) with PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Integrate third-party APIs with high availability and security.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
