Allerton Bishop Search is recruiting a Senior Project Manager for a remote Europe-based role within a pharmaceutical CDMO/CMO network. Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Project Management within pharmaceutical CDMO/CMO environments.
• Proven track record in a customer-facing project management role with exposure to pre- and post-sales activities.
• Strong understanding of GMP manufacturing and cross-functional pharmaceutical operations.
• Ability to manage multiple international customer programmes remotely.

Responsibilities

Senior Project Manager – Pharmaceutical CDMO / CMO

Remote – Europe (UK, Italy, Spain, Portugal preferred) | Customer-Facing Project Management | Pre & Post-Sales | Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Allerton Bishop is partnering with an international pharmaceutical Contract Development & Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager on a remote basis in Europe.

This is a highly customer-facing position, responsible for supporting pre-sales commercial activities and post-sales project execution, ensuring a seamless customer experience from initial opportunity development through to technology transfer, manufacturing readiness and ongoing commercial supply.

Working closely with Business Development, Commercial, Technical Operations and Manufacturing teams, the Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in strengthening customer relationships, supporting new business opportunities and delivering complex pharmaceutical manufacturing programmes across an international CDMO network.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary customer-facing project lead, building strong relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients throughout the commercial project lifecycle.
• Support pre-sales activities, partnering with Business Development and Commercial teams on customer requirements, technical discussions, project scoping, timelines and proposal development.
• Lead post-sales project execution, ensuring a structured transition from commercial agreement through to operational delivery and ongoing customer management.
• Manage complex CDMO/CMO projects, including technology transfers, new product introductions (NPI), product launches, manufacturing scale-up and commercial supply programmes.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain and Technical Operations to ensure successful project delivery.
• Provide proactive customer communication, structured project updates and effective stakeholder management, ensuring transparency and responsiveness throughout the customer relationship.
• Develop and maintain project plans, monitoring milestones, deliverables, risks, dependencies and commercial commitments.
• Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to track contractual milestones, project deliverables and invoicing requirements.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Project Management or Programme Management within a pharmaceutical CDMO, CMO or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in a customer-facing pharmaceutical project management role, ideally with exposure to both pre-sales and post-sales activities.
• Strong understanding of the commercial CDMO environment, including customer engagement, project scoping, proposal support and contract-to-execution handovers.
• Experience delivering pharmaceutical technology transfer, NPI, commercialisation, manufacturing or supply chain projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with external customers and senior commercial and technical leadership teams.
• Understanding of GMP manufacturing and cross-functional pharmaceutical operations.
• Ability to manage multiple international customer programmes independently within a remote working environment.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
