Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in well completion engineering within Oil & Gas.
• Experience with multilateral and intelligent completions.
• Knowledge of downhole completion tools and materials.
• Experience with artificial lift systems (ESP, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Familiarity with wellbore integrity & cementing practices.
• Strong project management and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to lead cross-functional teams.

About the Role

Our client, a significant entity in the Oil & Gas industry, is actively recruiting for a Senior Well Completion Engineer to enhance their technical capabilities. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and managing well completion operations to ensure optimal production and wellbore integrity. The position is based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer well completion strategies tailored to specific reservoir characteristics and production objectives.
• Select appropriate completion equipment, including tubing, packers, safety valves, and artificial lift systems.
• Develop detailed completion programs and procedures, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Oversee and supervise completion operations on-site, providing technical guidance to field teams.
• Perform wellbore integrity analysis and design remediation plans when necessary.
• Plan and execute wellbore diagnostics and intervention operations.
• Conduct post-completion analysis to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, and production engineers.
• Ensure compliance with all company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in well completion engineering within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Proven expertise in designing and executing complex well completions (e.g., multilateral, intelligent completions).
• Strong knowledge of downhole completion tools, materials, and their application.
• Experience with artificial lift systems (e.g., ESP, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Familiarity with wellbore integrity principles and cementing practices.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence.
• Understanding of stimulation techniques such as hydraulic fracturing and acidizing is advantageous.
