Preply is seeking a Senior II Platform Software Engineer - SRE in Barcelona. You will own availability, scalability, and reliability for mission-critical services, delivering automation and tooling to accelerate engineering velocity.

You’ll drive observability, incident response, and FinOps practices while collaborating with product teams to design scalable platform services. You’ll join the Platform Tribe, work hybrid from Barcelona, and influence core architecture with significant ownership.

Formación

• Extensive experience (~8 years) designing, building and maintaining high-traffic distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on AI tooling to influence architecture and workflows.
• Experience with at least one public cloud (preferably AWS) and observability tooling.
• Willingness to participate in paid on-call rotations and follow FinOps practices.
• Strong business orientation, data-driven approach, and excellent communication (English C1).

Responsabilidades

• Own the availability and performance of mission-critical services and build automation to prevent recurrence.
• Improve system scalability, observability, and alerting across the platform.
• Build tooling to enhance the platform and accelerate development.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Collaborate with product teams to tackle technical issues and design new systems.
• Strengthen credibility with the quality of the team's technical execution.
• Follow best FinOps practices and participate in on-call rotation.
