Preply is seeking a Senior Platform Platform Software Engineer to join the SRE team in our Barcelona hub. You will own availability, performance, and automation for mission-critical services, while advancing scalability, observability, and tooling across the platform.

You’ll collaborate with product teams, lead on-call rotations, and promote disciplined execution and FinOps best practices. This role demands deep distributed-systems experience and strong English communication.

Formación

• 8+ years designing and maintaining high-traffic distributed systems.
• Proficient Python software engineering.
• Experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS preferred).
• Strong observability and alerting experience.
• Willingness to participate in paid on-call rotations.
• English at C1 level and strong communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Own the availability and performance of mission-critical services and build automation to prevent recurrence of problems.
• Improve the system’s scalability, observability, and alerting.
• Build tooling to improve our platform and speed up software development.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Collaborate with product teams to tackle technical issues and design new systems.
• Strengthen credibility with the team through solid technical execution.
• Follow best FinOps practices.
• Participate in on-call rotation across the team.
