Preply in Barcelona is seeking a senior backend engineer to design and build scalable AI-powered backoffice systems. You will contribute to agentic workflows, integrate AI with codebases, and collaborate across Engineering, Product, Design and Data.

Bring ~8 years of backend experience, strong Python, and hands-on AI agent experience. You’ll prototype rapidly, ensure reliability, and help define how AI adds value while preserving human judgment.

Formación

• Extensive backend experience designing scalable systems.
• Strong Python development and production-grade skills.
• Hands-on AI agents or agentic workflows experience.
• Understanding of modern agentic AI patterns and evaluation.
• Experience integrating AI with APIs and internal tools.
• Proven ability to prototype, measure value, and scale.
• Distributed systems knowledge for reliable AI power.
• Good product thinking and user workflow focus.
• Strong communication skills, English C1+.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build AI agents and harnesses using Python.
• Create reusable capabilities and integrations within engineering tools.
• Develop agentic workflows across Engineering, Product, Design and Data.
• Prototype new AI capabilities and scale successful approaches.
• Define context, orchestration, and verification for reliability.
• Measure usage and value, iterate with data-driven feedback.
