Job summary

Exceltic in Tarragona, Spain, seeks a Senior Petrochemical Process Engineer to lead optimization, design, and implementation of complex petrochemical processes in a safety-conscious environment.

You will oversee process simulations, feasibility studies, and economic analyses for new projects, develop PFDs and P&IDs, and collaborate across teams to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance in Spain's Catalonia region.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or closely related field.
• At least 8 years in petrochemical/oil & gas with a process engineering focus.
• Strong knowledge of refinery and petrochemical processes (cracking, reforming, polymerization).
• Experience with process simulation software and P&ID development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and optimization of petrochemical processes with safety and compliance.
• Run process simulations, feasibility studies and economic analyses for projects.
• Provide technical leadership, troubleshoot operations and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain PFDs and P&IDs and related engineering docs.
• Collaborate with management, operations, maintenance and safety teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on industry best practices.
• Support process hazard analyses (PHAs) and safety reviews.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
