Apex Group in Valencia seeks a Senior Due Diligence Associate to safeguard client assets by overseeing fund activity and ensuring regulatory compliance, including AIFMD. You will evaluate service providers, assess risks, and support governance activities across Depositary and Compliance teams.

Responsibilities include conducting DDQs, preparing reports, and maintaining audit trails. The role requires strong English, 1–2 years in a related field, and a proactive, detail-focused mindset.

Formación

  • Bachelor's in Finance/Business Administration or related.
  • Autonomous and solution-oriented approach.
  • Excellent English (B level)
  • 1–2 years in Due Diligence, Depositary Oversight, Custody, Fund Administration, Risk, Compliance or Audit.
  • Knowledge of UCITS and AIFMD rules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of product range and operational processes.

Responsabilidades

  • Perform due diligence reviews on Sub-Custodians, Prime Brokers, Fund Managers and Fund Administrators; manage DDQs and control reports.
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor service-provider activities; escalate findings as needed.
  • Draft and provide due diligence reports; support branch management reporting and audit trails.
  • Collaborate with Depositary, Risk, Compliance and Operations teams; support internal and regulatory inspections.

Role Location: Valencia Department: Depositary/Due Diligence Level of the role: Senior Due Diligence Associate Employment Type: Full time permanent

Role summary: As a Senior Due Diligence Associate, you will play a key role in safeguarding client assets by overseeing fund activity and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including AIFMD. You will conduct due diligence reviews on key service providers such as Fund Managers, Administrators, Prime Brokers, and Sub-Custodians, assess risks, and support ongoing monitoring and governance activities. Working closely with Depositary, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams, you will help deliver high-quality oversight, maintain strong client service standards, and contribute to the integrity of Apex Group's investment operations.

Key responsibilities:
  • Due Diligence Reviews: Prepare initial and ongoing due diligence reviews on Sub-Custodians Prime Brokers Fund Managers Fund Administrator Process: Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) Control reports (SOC1 / ISAE 3402 reports) Financial statements Regulatory disclosures Policies and procedures Standard due diligence documentation packs
  • Risk Assessment and Monitoring: Perform preliminary and periodic risk assessments of service providers. Maintain records of ongoing monitoring activities and ensure supporting evidence is retained. Escalate material findings or emerging risks to the Due Diligence Manager.
  • Reporting: Draft due diligence reports for review by the Due Diligence Manager. Assist in preparing reporting for Branch Management. Track outstanding recommendation, findings and remediation actions. Maintain accurate audit trails supporting all due diligence activities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop effective working relationships with Depositary Teams, Custody Operations, external service providers. Participate in internal and external meetings as required. Promote a culture of risk awareness, control effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Support internal audits, external audits and regulatory inspections by providing required documentation and evidence.
Skills Required:
  • Bachelors in preferably Finance/ Business Administration or something similar.
  • Autonomous and solution-oriented working style.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (B level as minimum).
  • Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a Due Diligence, Depositary Oversight, Custody, Fund Administration, Risk, Compliance or Audit environment.
  • An overall knowledge of Depositary key regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of UCITS and AIFMD rules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of product range and operational processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
