Apex Group Ltd in Valencia is seeking a Senior Due Diligence Associate to safeguard client assets by overseeing fund activity and ensuring regulatory compliance, including AIFMD. You will conduct due diligence reviews on key service providers and assess risks to support governance and client service.

Working closely with Depositary, Risk, Compliance and Operations teams, you will deliver high-quality oversight and maintain audit trails, contributing to the integrity of Apex Group’s investment

Formación

• Bachelors in Finance/Business Administration or similar.
• Autonomous and solution-oriented working style.
• Excellent communication in English (B level minimum).
• 1–2 years' experience in Due Diligence, Depositary Oversight, Custody, Fund Administration, Risk, Compliance or Audit.
• Knowledge of Depositary regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of UCITS and AIFMD rules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of product range and operational processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct due diligence reviews of Sub-Custodians, Prime Brokers, Fund Managers, and Fund Administrators.
• Prepare due diligence materials and control reports (SOC1 / ISAE 3402).
• Perform risk assessments and maintain ongoing monitoring records.
• Draft due diligence reports and support governance reporting.
• Engage with Depositary Teams, Custody Operations, external service providers.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory inspections with required documentation.

Role summary:

As a Senior Due Diligence Associate, you will play a key role in safeguarding client assets by overseeing fund activity and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including AIFMD. You will conduct due diligence reviews on key service providers such as Fund Managers, Administrators, Prime Brokers, and Sub-Custodians, assess risks, and support ongoing monitoring and governance activities. Working closely with Depositary, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams, you will help deliver high-quality oversight, maintain strong client service standards, and contribute to the integrity of Apex Group’s investment operations.

• Process:
  • Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs)
  • Control reports (SOC1 / ISAE 3402 reports)
  • Financial statements
  • Regulatory disclosures
  • Policies and procedures
  • Standard due diligence documentation packs
• Risk Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Perform preliminary and periodic risk assessments of service providers.
  • Maintain records of ongoing monitoring activities and ensure supporting evidence is retained.
  • Escalate material findings or emerging risks to the Due Diligence Manager.
• Reporting:
  • Draft due diligence reports for review by the Due Diligence Manager.
  • Assist in preparing reporting for Branch Management.
  • Track outstanding recommendation, findings and remediation actions.
  • Maintain accurate audit trails supporting all due diligence activities.
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Develop effective working relationships with Depositary Teams, Custody Operations, external service providers.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings as required.
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness, control effectiveness and regulatory compliance.
  • Support internal audits, external audits and regulatory inspections by providing required documentation and evidence.

Skills Required:

• Bachelors in preferably Finance/ Business Administration or something similar.
• Autonomous and solution-oriented working style.
• Excellent communication skills in English (B level as minimum).
• Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a Due Diligence, Depositary Oversight, Custody, Fund Administration, Risk, Compliance or Audit environment.
• An overall knowledge of Depositary key regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of UCITS and AIFMD rules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of product range and operational processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
