Job summary

ERNI in Catalonia, Spain seeks a senior software architect to define the software architecture behind a next-generation medical robotics platform. You will apply Modern C++, RTOS, EtherCAT to build reliable, safety-critical systems.

You will mentor engineers, define interfaces and safety mechanisms, lead cybersecurity and regulatory support, and collaborate across teams in a hybrid work model. Fluent Spanish and strong English communication are essential as you help the project meet

Qualifications

7+ years of software engineering experience with architecture or technical leadership in embedded or real-time systems.
Expert knowledge of Modern C++, embedded systems, RTOS-based real-time control with EtherCAT.
Strong testing background including CI, code coverage, static and dynamic analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Nice to have: experience developing regulated medical device software under IEC 62304, ISO 14971 and ISO 13485.
Fluent Spanish and strong English communication skills.

Join our expert team to work on a Medical Technology project, contributing to the development of advanced robotic software systems. You will apply your knowledge of Modern C++, QNX/RTOS, EtherCAT and safety-critical architectures to build reliable and compliant solutions.

What you will bring

7+ years of software engineering experience, including software architecture or technical leadership in embedded software or real-time systems.

Expert knowledge of Modern C++, embedded systems, RTOS environments and EtherCAT-based real-time control systems.

Strong background in testing practices, including CI, code coverage, static and dynamic analysis, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
