Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an experienced software engineer to build and scale a high-performance object storage platform used by developers worldwide. You will contribute across the full technology stack, from client libraries and command-line tools to storage servers, content delivery networks, and deployment infrastructure.

You will tackle distributed systems challenges, improve APIs and tooling, and contribute to edge infrastructure, observability, and reliable uploads.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of backend engineering experience, including operating Node.js applications in production.
• Experience designing, building, or operating highly scalable distributed systems.
• Comfort working across the technology stack, including backend application development and infrastructure deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Experience with performance tuning, production troubleshooting, and improving the reliability of distributed services.
• Strong practical experience with PostgreSQL in production, including database tuning and troubleshooting.
• A demonstrated ownership mindset, with the ability to drive projects independently from initial problem definition through delivery.
• A strong appreciation for developer experience and a commitment to building intuitive, reliable tools that help developers work efficiently.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, asynchronous, globally distributed team environment.

Responsibilities

• Enhance storage analytics and support open file formats, including Iceberg and DuckLake.
• Develop asset optimization capabilities to improve delivery speed and performance.
• Expand edge infrastructure to accelerate uploads and implement features like automatic cache invalidation.
• Improve storage server performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Collaborate on frontend engineers to build a fast storage explorer.
• Enhance APIs, client libraries, and CLI tools for a seamless developer workflow.
• Identify opportunities to improve upload resilience and protocol behavior across clients.
• Develop and maintain open-source storage server components and contribute to upstream dependencies.
• Address escalated issues and implement systemic improvements.
• Contribute to backend, infrastructure deployment, monitoring, and service operations.
• Take ownership of end-to-end engineering initiatives from problem definition to deployment and improvement.
