Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner company, is seeking a Backend Engineer in Spain. You will join a small autonomous team focused on scalable backend solutions, API development, and data-intensive systems using Node.js and TypeScript.

You will own backend components, collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams, and leverage AI-assisted coding tools in an Agile environment. This role offers flexible remote, hybrid, or office-based work across Spain.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend experience in production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript with modern backend practices.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse).
• API design, data modeling, and web architecture expertise.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and cloud technologies (Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with testing (unit/integration/end-to-end).
• Proficient communication in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and optimize APIs for analytics products on real-time and historical data.
• Work with large data systems and multiple databases.
• Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of backend services.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and data models for new features.
• Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams in Agile sprints.
• Incorporate AI-assisted coding tools into the workflow.
• Participate in testing strategies and CI/CD processes.
