Job summary

Parser is seeking an experienced Python Backend Engineer to join a client delivery team focused on Search for a major multinational retailer. You will build backend services and APIs, integrate with data platforms, and support AI-enabled features within a production-ready environment.

The role requires strong Python knowledge, CI/CD practice, and experience with cloud platforms (Azure). Remote-friendly in Spain with flexible work options.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend or software engineering experience.
• Experience shipping user-focused, reliable, secure solutions.
• Strong Python production experience and API design.
• Good written and verbal communication; collaborative delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Python backend services and APIs for search tooling.
• Refactor offline evaluation tool for CI/CD deployment.
• Translate product requirements into maintainable, test-driven code.
• Integrate services with data platforms, client APIs and search infra.
• Support AI features and validate model outputs.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science and Search teams to move prototypes to production.
• Maintain production systems and document decisions and trade-offs.
