Schneider Electric in Barcelona is recruiting a Senior Automation Engineer to design and maintain automation solutions for network and security operations. You will build REST API integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise platforms, using Python and GitHub to deliver secure, scalable automation.

You will implement authentication patterns, manage secrets, and collaborate across global teams to improve reliability and observability of complex workflows.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in automation engineering, platform integration, DevOps, network engineering or cybersecurity operations.
• Proficiency in Python and practical experience with API-based integrations in production environments.
• Experience with GitHub-based development workflows and automated testing or deployment pipelines.
• Good understanding of enterprise identity, authentication, authorization and secure credential handling.
• Ability to analyse complex technical problems independently and drive issues to resolution.
• Strong documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear design notes, runbooks, interface specifications and support guidance.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and maintain automation solutions for network and security operations using Python and reusable software engineering practices.
• Build and support REST API integrations between ServiceNow, network and security platforms, cloud services and internal systems.
• Develop ServiceNow integrations that create, update and enrich incidents, requests, changes and configuration data through approved interfaces.
• Use GitHub for source control, pull requests, code review, branching strategies, issue tracking and CI/CD workflows.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns, including OAuth 2.0, API tokens, service accounts and secrets management.
• Create robust automation with validation, structured logging, error handling, retry logic, audit trails and monitoring.
• Translate requirements into scalable designs, reusable modules and well-documented interfaces.
• Troubleshoot workflow failures across APIs, identity services, proxies, gateways and target platforms.
• Partner with network, cybersecurity, infrastructure and service management teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to engineering standards, technical documentation and knowledge sharing.
