Axpo Group in Spain seeks an experienced SAP Basis Specialist to administer and run our SAP landscape, including cloud solutions and on-premise systems. You will ensure availability and performance for business streams, applying security policies, monitoring, and upgrades.

Join a cross-location IT team and contribute to disaster recovery design, patching, and documentation. English proficiency required; German/Spanish a plus. Hybrid work in Madrid with some remote time.

Formación

• At least 7 years of SAP Basis administration experience.
• Experience with SAP HANA 2.0 and ECC/S/4HANA is preferred.
• Experience across Linux/Windows and SAP databases (HANA, Oracle, MaxDB).
• Fluent English; German and/or Spanish are a plus.

Do you enjoy keeping complex IT landscapes running smoothly and securely? Join Axpo's international IT team in Spain and help power the systems behind Europe's energy transition. As a SAP Basis Specialist you will be responsible for the administration and running of our SAP landscape, including cloud-based solutions (RISE, BTP, CPI, etc.) as well as on-premise.

Your mission would be to ensure all SAP applications are available and performing as expected by the business streams and their demands. Defining and applying security policies, proactive monitoring, disaster recovery design and execution, application and OS patching, HANA database administration (including performance tuning), creating and updating internal documentation, and executing system upgrades and other improvements.

What you will do:

• Act as technical owner for our SAP systems, ensuring availability, performance, and backup/restore in line with SLAs

• Maintain multi-landscape environments through system refreshes, SAP/database upgrades, and support package campaigns

• Research and propose improvements in performance monitoring, tuning, and system configuration, following SAP and Axpo best practices

• Serve as the main point of contact for all SAP Basis-related questions

• Coordinate with other IT technical team leads to identify dependencies and potential issues across the system landscape

• Support disaster recovery design, security policies, and system patching activities

What you bring & who you are:

• At least 7 years of experience in SAP Basis administration, ideally covering both cloud and on-premise solutions

• Familiarity with SAP HANA 2.0 – ideally combined with experience in SAP ECC, S/4HANA, Solution Manager, or Cloud Connector

• Comfortable working across different operating systems (Linux, Windows Server) and databases (SAP HANA, Oracle, MaxDB) – ideally with hands-on installation and upgrade experience

• Strong communicator who works well in cross-functional, cross-location teams

• Collaborative, customer-focused, and self-driven, with a can-do attitude

• Proficient in English; German and/or Spanish are a plus
