Job summary

European Payments Initiative (EPI) is seeking a Risk & Internal Control professional to strengthen the risk governance framework across a European, remote-first organization. You will work with the 3 lines of defense, enhance controls and reporting, and engage stakeholders across Compliance, IT, and business teams.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional experience in a similar Risk and/or Internal Control role.
• Proficient in English.
• Hands-on experience with Level 1 / Level 2 control execution and testing.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk and Internal Control, including COSO and risk reporting/governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of ICT risk management, outsourcing risk management and DORA compliance would be great to have.
• Experience with GRC tools would be nice to have.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Level 1 controls, collect results and support managers in execution and follow-up.
• Design, plan and perform Level 2 controls using a risk-driven approach.
• Maintain the risk register, KRIs and risk mitigation plans.
• Monitor risk appetite thresholds and trigger mitigation actions when needed.
• Contribute to risk reporting presented to EPI Committees and Supervisory Boards.
• Monitor third-party service provider risk assessments and oversee external risks.
• Promote risk and internal control awareness across the organisation.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Business Continuity and Risk & Compliance teams.
