Job summary

Outpayce is seeking a Risk & Compliance Lead for Payments to shape and advance its regulatory framework in Madrid. You will work with Product, Legal, Risk, Finance and Operations to identify and manage regulatory, financial and reputational risks and foster a strong compliance culture across the organisation.

The role involves coordinating audits, developing controls for AML/CTF and sanctions, and delivering training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• At least five years of multi-jurisdictional compliance experience in financial services or fintech.
• Experience across general compliance with non-financial risk management.
• Strong knowledge of payment-services regulation (SAC, PSD2/PSD3, outsourcing, data protection).
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical processes and controls.
• Experience coordinating audits, regulatory reviews or remediation programmes.
• Strong stakeholder-management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English; Spanish desirable; French or German advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures; escalate incidents or control weaknesses.
• Design and execute second-line controls for AML/CTF, sanctions and financial-crime risks; monitor remediation.
• Assess new products and services to identify regulatory risks and define mitigations.
• Coordinate internal/external audits, regulatory assessments and assurance reviews; manage findings.
• Prepare and coordinate risk & compliance reporting for senior management and boards.
• Oversee governance of compliance operations including SAC, regulatory submissions and whistleblowing.
• Support governance of the Risk & Compliance Office via committees and reporting.
• Maintain and review compliance policies; ensure alignment with requirements and activities.
• Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs.
• Act as R&C focal point for Industry Affairs and regulatory developments.
• Represent Outpayce in industry associations and forums.
