Lever, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer, Trust & Safety, to join a fully remote team building reliable email infrastructure for millions of developers. You will design and develop anti-abuse systems that protect legitimate senders while preventing spam, phishing, fraud and account compromise.

You will own technical decisions from discovery through production deployment, working across backend services, databases, and ML components in a globally distributed environment.

Formación

• At least five years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Experience with Go for latency-sensitive backend services.
• Experience with AWS, AWS CDK, and Datadog.
• Strong understanding of APIs, event-driven architectures, queues, and stateful services.
• Experience designing resilient systems that fail safely and address false positives.
• Observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing, and production monitoring.
• Ownership across the stack—from frontend to backend and databases.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis.

Responsabilidades

• Build real-time enforcement systems with millisecond latency requirements.
• Design scalable detection pipelines from signals to automated actions.
• Develop, maintain, and improve detection rules and enforcement policies.
• Detect and contain account takeovers and leaked API keys safely.
• Automate investigations, appeals, and bulk enforcement actions.
• Build ML classifiers for spam and phishing detection.
• Implement safeguards to reduce false positives and ensure reliable decisions.
• Maintain comprehensive observability via logs, metrics, tracing, and error handling.
• Collaborate across frontend, backend, and infrastructure teams.
• Own projects from discovery to production deployment and continuous improvement.
