Job summary

UST is seeking a Java Technical Lead to drive delivery for a global banking and financial tech client. The role is 100% remote for candidates based in Spain, with opportunities to shape architecture, coding standards, and DevOps practices across the team.

You will mentor developers, set best practices, and ensure scalable, high-performance software while aligning with Product Management goals and SDLC processes.

Qualifications

• Very strong Java programming skills and knowledge of API development.
• Deep understanding of all stages in the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Deep understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Experience with Unit Testing, API Testing, Acceptance Testing, Load Testing.
• Experience with distributed architectures like SOA or MSA.
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS services.
• Experience with Gradle or Maven.
• Experience with Enterprise Jenkins.
• Experience working in an Agile fashion (Scrum, SAFe).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software
• Set coding standards, best practices, and ensure adherence to them
• Mentor and coach junior developers to enhance their skills and performance
• Provide technical guidance and support to the team
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software
• As part of the DevOps model you build it, you own it and you run it , ensure stable and smooth maintenance of delivered software
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
• Participate in complete Software Development Life Cycle, including occasional QA and peer review
• Work to achieve the goals and vision articulated by Product Management
• Innovate within your team, initiative area and contribute within your technical domain.
