Job summary

UST is seeking a Java Engineer to join a globally distributed technology team on a financial services project. This remote opportunity emphasizes scalable API-based solutions, DevOps collaboration, and strong adherence to SDLC and design patterns.

You will design, build, and maintain high-quality software, participate in code reviews, testing, and cross-functional agile practices while contributing to distributed, event-driven architectures and modern AWS-based deployments.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java development and API design/building.
• Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Solid knowledge of software design patterns and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable software solutions.
• Build, own, and support applications following a DevOps approach (you build it, you own it, you run it).
• Ensure the stability, performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Participate throughout the full SDLC, including development, testing, code reviews, and occasional QA activities.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
• Contribute to product goals and business objectives defined by Product Management.
• Drive innovation within the team and actively contribute to technical improvements and best practices.
• Support and maintain distributed and event-driven systems.
