Job summary

Tether is building a global fintech platform with on‑device AI features and a privacy‑preserving architecture. We seek a Product Engineering Lead to guide engineering teams, partner with product managers, and shape features that run reliably on user devices.

You will mentor leads, set high standards, and push for fast experimentation with AI tools while ensuring quality and privacy across our product suite.

Qualifications

• Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer products (AI-powered apps).
• Strong product sense to differentiate valuable features from busy ones.
• Intuition for applied AI and on-device constraints: model size, latency, memory, battery.
• You use AI tools heavily in your own work and experiment with new models.
• Deep JavaScript and React experience.
• Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and ability to give and receive direct critique.

Responsibilities

• Run the app and feature teams day to day: unblock, review, and ship.
• Set and maintain a high engineering bar for performance and clean APIs.
• Own the technical design of features and the API surface between AI core and the app.
• Collaborate with AI research and deep tech teams on reviews touching models or inference.
