Job summary

THEWHITEAM Consulting is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to drive backend development across a modern stack. You will design scalable services in Java, build microservice architectures, and apply Hexagonal Architecture with Ports & Adapters.

Expect hands-on work with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Docker, Grafana, and cloud or containerized environments, while advancing observability, CI/CD practices, and reliable software delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong Java proficiency with modern Java versions.
• Proven experience designing and developing microservices architectures and Hexagonal Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend applications using Java.
• Build and maintain microservices-based architectures.
• Apply Hexagonal Architecture (Ports & Adapters) and sound design principles.
• Develop solutions using messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Develop and deploy applications in Docker containerized environments.
• Implement and maintain logging, monitoring and observability solutions.
• Collaborate with teams to design effective backend solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve system performance and reliability.
