Job summary

South, on behalf of a client, is seeking a Freight Operations & Sales Specialist for a hybrid role in the U.S. logistics market. You will manage shipments end-to-end, perform outbound sales to build freight lanes, and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers.

The role emphasizes hands-on coordination, daily operations management, and a strong focus on backhaul optimization, with English proficiency required for direct client interaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in U.S. freight brokerage, 3PL, or trucking operations.
• Proven experience with outbound sales and building freight lanes from scratch.
• Hands-on coordination of box truck or truckload shipments and daily ops issues.
• Advanced English for direct U.S. client interaction.
• Track record of achieving backhaul and weekly volume targets.
• Ability to report to leadership and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Lane Development (75% focus): Proactive outbound calls and lead generation to build shipper relationships and lanes.
• Inbound & Client Engagement (25% focus): Follow up on inquiries, respond to quotes, manage account communications.
• Volume & Capacity Growth: Drive carrier growth to target weekly volume across multiple carriers.
• Backhaul Optimization: Sell and secure return loads to maintain backhaul utilization >90%.
• Operations & Execution: Coordinate daily freight progress; communicate with drivers and U.S. clients; resolve issues.
• Documentation & Systems: Prepare rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs; maintain CRM and TMS records.
