Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a data-driven energy trading platform to hire a Data Scientist focused on Time Series Forecasting. Role involves building forecasting models for weather, energy prices, and grid supply/demand, and delivering production-ready code for a live trading environment.

You will work in a fully remote, distributed setting, leveraging Python, SQL, and AI-assisted tools to drive measurable forecasting improvements and actionable trading insights across international teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Econometrics, Physics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• At least three years of relevant data science experience.
• Experience in designing and applying time series forecasting models.
• Strong Python and SQL proficiency; Go is a plus.
• Familiarity with agentic coding tools in daily workflows.
• Excellent English communication for remote, international collaboration.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Energy markets, electricity trading, or weather data knowledge is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine forecasting models for weather, energy prices, and grid dynamics.
• Translate algorithms into scalable production code powering a live energy trading platform.
• Analyze datasets, identify patterns, and improve forecast accuracy for trading decisions.
• Incorporate AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development workflows.
• Work with data pipelines and production environments to ensure reliable solutions.
• Communicate findings clearly to distributed stakeholders and align model work with business needs.
