Job summary

EDP is seeking a data-driven professional to develop and optimize trading strategies for Global Energy Management across European markets, including Iberia. The role involves planning/bidding strategies, market analysis, and supporting front-office tools and reporting.

The candidate will analyze regulatory changes, perform cross-department analyses, and contribute to the Business Plan/Budget with strong programming and data skills in Python, R, SQL, and visualization tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or Business with strong quantitative focus or Data Science or Analytics.
• Postgraduate or specialization will be valuated.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize the middle & short-term trading strategies of Global Energy Management in European markets (Iberia & Rest of Europe).
• Develop planning & bidding strategies at DAM/IDM/XBID/AASS/IMB/Constraints/Nomination to maximize trading revenues.
• Perform analyses for other departments (RGA, FP&A, Origination, R&M, Back Office).
• Analyze market regulations and financial conditions affecting short-term strategies.
• Develop digitization and market tools to support Front Office Operations and reporting of market results.
• Develop and simulate the Business Plan / Budget.
• Develop optimization studies and models for electricity sales where Market Operations participates directly.
• Coordinate market evolution analysis, forecasting and strategy performance.
