Lever, Inc. is seeking a Backend Engineer based in Spain to join a small, ambitious product team.

You will own the central API and backend services, primarily using Node.js and TypeScript, and focus on API design, data modeling, performance, and developer experience. This remote, asynchronous role offers substantial technical ownership, collaboration with frontend and product teams, and opportunities to validate ideas through MVPs and experiments while delivering scalable backend systems for

Formación

• Extensive experience building large-scale, scalable APIs and backend systems.
• Strong API design mindset with well-structured data models.
• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka.
• Proactive communication in a remote, async environment (German & English).
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of projects across technologies and teams.

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain central API and backend services.
• Build fast, reliable data processing and calculations.
• Design intuitive APIs and data models.
• Scale backend systems while maintaining reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend, design, and product teams.
• Own the internal API as a product and ensure its evolution.
• Debug production issues across the stack.
