UST España & Latam is seeking a Python Developer / Application Owner for a hybrid role based in Madrid. You will design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications, bridging business needs with engineering and infrastructure teams.

The role emphasizes risk/control data applications and end-to-end lifecycle ownership. Key requirements include strong Python with Django, Linux operations, SQL (Oracle/Trino), Celery, Redis, and front-end skills (JavaScript/HTML/CSS).

Responsabilidades

• Act as the primary point of contact for an application managing risk and control data; run controls and report results.
• Plan and manage the application lifecycle, coordinating between business stakeholders, developers, infra teams, and vendors.

• Ensure environments follow security guidelines, audits, and industry standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned applications, including lifecycle and decommissioning.
• Ensure availability, performance, security, and compliance.

What we look for?

We are looking for an Application Owner / Python Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting business-critical applications to be part of the project of the client from the banking sector.

Work Location: Work model in hybrid in Madrid (3 days at the office, 2 WFH),

Main tasks and accountabilities will be:

• Act as the primary point of contact for an application which manages risk and control data, executes controls, and reports results.
• Plan and manage throughout the application lifecycle, bridging the gap between business stakeholders, development teams, infrastructure teams, and external vendors.
• Ensure that applications meet business requirements, comply with organizational standards, and deliver reliable services to end users.
• Ensure that all environments follow internal security guidelines, audit requirements, and industry standards.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned applications.
• Manage application lifecycle, including enhancements, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Ensure application availability, performance, security, and compliance.

What do we expect from you?

• Linux-based application operations and deployment.
• Strong Python development skills with Django.
• Experience with SQL and enterprise databases (Oracle and Trino preferred).
• Experience with background processing and caching technologies. Eg. (Celery and Redis.)
• Web application development experience using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with Git-based development and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, especially in multi-system environments.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating environment readiness, issues, and dependencies.

Nice to have

• NGINX/Gunicorn administration.
• REST API design and system integrations.
• Authentication and authorization experience (SSO, RBAC).
