Job summary

OMODA & JAECO Motors, part of the Chery Group, is seeking a senior Production Planning Manager based in Barcelona to coordinate long-term and short-term production plans across OEM and manufacturing partners. You will lead cross-functional teams across supply chain, monitor capacity and material availability, analyze bottlenecks, and drive improvements in planning processes.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required; Catalan or Chinese knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience in automotive production planning within an OEM or automotive manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate production risks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate production schedules and planning adjustments to support European operations.
• Monitor production capacity and material readiness to meet delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers and internal departments to track progress and deviations.
• Prepare reports on production plan achievement, capacity utilization, and delivery performance.

• Develop and manage annual, six-month rolling, monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales demand, factory capacity, material availability, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate production schedules, order prioritization, and planning adjustments to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and timely deliveries.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturing facilities and internal departments to monitor production execution, order progress, and deviations from production targets.
• Analyze production capacity, utilization, and manufacturing constraints to identify potential bottlenecks and delivery risks.
• Develop contingency and recovery plans to address material shortages, capacity limitations, production delays, and unexpected operational disruptions.
• Coordinate material readiness, inventory availability, procurement schedules, and inbound deliveries for KD parts and locally sourced materials.
• Monitor production performance, investigate planning exceptions, and implement corrective actions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Prepare regular reports on production plan achievement, capacity utilization, material availability, and delivery performance.
• Establish and continuously improve production planning procedures, reporting systems, and standardized operational processes.
• Support the digitalization and optimization of production planning processes to improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
• Experience in automotive production planning, particularly within an OEM or automotive manufacturing environment, is highly preferred.
• Previous team management or leadership experience is highly valued.
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes, production scheduling, and different production stages.
• Experience in production capacity planning, material requirements coordination, and manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate production risks and implement effective corrective actions.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manufacturing partners, and operational stakeholders.
• Strong planning, organizational, and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments, particularly with European and Chinese teams.
• Fluent in English and Spanish. Knowledge of Catalan or Chinese is a plus.
