Elastic is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Performance team to drive core optimizations from architecture to production. You will lead design and execution of major enhancements, build performance models for distributed systems, and embed performance-first thinking in new features.

Expect to mentor engineers and work across logging, vector search, and ES|QL to improve scalability and reliability.

Formación

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
• Strong understanding of concurrency models and thread-safety.
• Proven profiling and optimization experience for distributed systems.

Responsabilidades

• Own core performance initiatives end-to-end, from architecture to production deployment.
• Lead technical design and execution for major architectural and code-level performance improvements.
• Develop foundational performance models and methodologies for distributed systems.
• Drive optimization strategies for performance, predictability, and scalability of Elasticsearch.
