Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Principal AI Engineer to own the end-to-end improvement loop for the Context Engine. You will write production code, design evaluation and telemetry, and set the bar for how agents and memory behave in production, collaborating with data scientists, backend engineers, product, and UX.

You will work in a hybrid role, shipping code and designs in public as part of Elastic Stack, with emphasis on responsible, eval-driven development and external contracts

Formación

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with AI-driven products in production.
• Proven track record of eval-driven product improvement with agent/LLM behavior.
• Backend experience in Python or TypeScript; APIs and data pipelines.

Responsabilidades

• Own the production improvement loop for Context Engine and related tools.
• Define safe iteration strategies for agents, prompts, and automations.
• Design telemetry for data-informed engineering decisions and dashboards.
• Collaborate with data science on evaluation strategy and latency/cost.
