Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. Bilbao, Spain seeks a Power Systems Engineer to operate real-time simulators, perform HIL/FAT tests, and reproduce complex electrical conditions for protection relays and controllers. You will collaborate with international engineering teams to troubleshoot system behavior and contribute to diverse projects across power system applications.

Required: B.S. in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, at least 2 years in protection and automation, and strong knowledge of transmission/

Qualifications

B.S. or higher in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering with strong power system knowledge.
Minimum 2 years of experience in protection, control, and automation.
Solid understanding of transmission and distribution phenomena.
Knowledge of protective relays, automation, and communications protocols.
Strong ethical, professional conduct in team/customer interactions.
Customer oriented with willingness to take on new challenges.
Ability to write SOW proposals and execute projects.

Responsibilities

Execute engineering and consulting projects within the Engineering & Consulting CoE, including scope, schedule, budget and quality.
Perform HIL tests using real-time digital simulators and Factory Acceptance Tests.
Analyze and troubleshoot real-time simulation scenarios.
Conduct studies across transmission, distribution, and industry segments (short circuit, load flow, arc-flash, coordination).
Create relay setting files including protection elements, logic and communications for GE and third-party relays.
Develop test setups, plans, and cases with wiring diagrams and relay configurations.
Prepare technical reports and project deliverables.
Contribute to technical papers for conferences and venues.
