SOFICO in Madrid is seeking a Platform Engineer to modernize infrastructure, scale a cloud‑first platform, and enable seamless experiences for automotive and mobility customers worldwide.

You will join Platform Operations or Platform Engineering, collaborating across time zones to build and maintain the backbone of Sofico’s solutions, with emphasis on automation, reliability, and knowledge sharing.

Formación

• Experience with at least one cloud provider, Azure preferred; Linux systems knowledge.
• Proficient in networking concepts, DNS, firewall management, and Cloudflare usage.
• Strong communicator capable of explaining infra topics to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Customer‑oriented, able to jump on calls and solve problems efficiently.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive learning attitude.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and manage scalable infrastructure (VMs, peering, firewall) in Azure.
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain infrastructure for global customers.
• Manage global firewall rules and VPN tunnels (IPSEC) and Cloudflare setup.
• Support customers and Sofico teams with technical consulting.
• Modernize legacy components into cloud‑native solutions.

What you’ll do...

As a Platform Engineer at Sofico, you’ll directly contribute to modernizing critical infrastructure, scaling a cloud-first platform, and enabling seamless experiences for top-tier automotive and mobility customers worldwide.

You’ll join our Platform Operations Team or Platform Engineering Team, part of Sofico’s global Platform organization. We’re a close-knit group of engineers spread across multiple time zones, who collaborate daily to build and maintain the backbone of Sofico’s solutions.

In Belgium: In our Ghent office, you would become part of a global team, collaborating with people all around the world.

Your responsibilities include:

• Setting up and managing scalable infrastructure (e.g. VM’s, Spoke’s, peering, firewall, …) in Azure,
• Through automation using Terraform, Ansible, and GitOps.
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining infrastructure f for global customers.
• Zabbix, OpsGenie, Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit & Loki
• Setting up and maintaining Site-2-Site IPSEC VPN tunnels between our infrastructure and our customers.
• Setting up and maintaining Cloudflare (WAF, tunnel, DNS, custom hostnames, …)
• Managing global firewall, networks ranges and availability.
• Supporting customers & other Sofico teams directly and providing technical consulting.
• Modernising legacy components into scalable, cloud-native solutions.
• Sharing knowledge within the team and across Sofico.

What you’ll bring...

We’re aiming high because we want the best, but what’s on your resume isn’t everything. You don’t need to tick every box, but if you recognize yourself in most of these:

• Proven experience with at least one cloud provider, preferable Azure but others providers can be useful as well (AWS, OCI, …).
  Azure is our main stack, so proven Azure knowledge is a great advantage.
• Proven experience with Linux systems (& commands).
• Experience with Firewall tool (e.g. Fortinet, Fortimanager, Forti analyser)
• Extended networking knowledge (DNS, Firewall, VDom, Adom, routing, Cloudflare…)
• Strong communicator, comfortable explaining infra topics to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Customer-oriented: able to jump on a call, ask the right questions, and solve problems.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies.
• A true team player who enjoys helping colleagues succeed.
• Fluent in English, any other language is a plus.
