Job summary

SOFICO, a leading mobility software company, is seeking a Software Engineer - Microservices to contribute to expanding and enhancing the Miles Enterprise platform through scalable cloud-native microservice solutions.

You will translate domain models into microservice architectures, collaborate with API consumers, and develop scalable backend systems using CI/CD, containers, and automated testing while maintaining a security-first SSDLC mindset. Hybrid work from Madrid is available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable, production-ready solutions on Java stack (Java 17/21).
• Experience implementing RESTful APIs within microservice architectures.
• Strong SQL skills, PostgreSQL.
• DevOps proficiency: Git, Maven, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Fluent English communication.
• Nice to have: familiarity with NoSQL datastores and related tools.
• Knowledge of additional languages beyond English.

Responsibilities

• Translate domain models into microservice architectures.
• Collaborate with internal API consumers using domain-driven design and integrate with external systems (DB design, data access & ORMs).
• Develop scalable, cloud-native solutions with CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing.

From our office in Madrid, we’re looking for a Software Engineer - Microservices who’s eager to contribute to the expansion and enhancement of the Miles Enterprise platform through scalable, cloud-native, and secure microservice solutions.

What You’ll Do...

• Translate domain models into microservice architectures
• Collaborating with internal API consumers using a domain-driven-design approach and integrating with external systems through tasks such as database design, data access & ORMs
• Develop scalable and cloud-native solutions using modern development and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containerization, and automated testing
• Apply a security-first mindset when implementing features and changes within the Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC)

What You Bring...

• 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer building scalable, production-ready solutions using the Java stack (with strong experience in Java 17 and ideally Java 21);
• Experience implementing RESTful APIs within microservice architectures;
• Strong expertise in SQL, specifically PostgreSQL;
• Proficiency with DevOps tools and practices, including Git, Maven, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions;
• Fluent communication skills in English
• Earn bonus points for..

• Experience or knowledge of technologies such as Angular, Kafka, Docker/Postman, or Kubernetes.;
