Job summary

The ideal candidate has a strong CAD background (SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Inventor), 4+ years in manufacturing design, and hands-on experience with tooling, fixtures, and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on manufacturing processes and equipment design.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures and jigs for manufacturing lines.
• Understanding of material properties and their application in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures to improve production efficiency and product quality.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes and machinery for better performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD software.
• Collaborate with production engineers, quality control, and operators to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
• Research and evaluate new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including equipment specifications, operating procedures, and maintenance guidelines.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures or process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Oversee the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and tooling.
• Ensure designs comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
