Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Precision Machining and Installation Technician for our client in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will operate CNC lathes and mills, read complex drawings, and fabricate parts to tight tolerances while preparing assemblies for on-site installation.

This hands-on role requires at least five years in precision machining and mechanical assembly, knowledge of metallurgy, and the ability to travel to installation sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in precision machining and mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency in CNC machining operations and manual machining techniques.
• Solid understanding of metallurgy and material properties.
• Experience with on-site installation and mechanical fitting in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate parts to exact specifications.
• Read and interpret complex drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Conduct precise measurements with calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools.
• Assemble mechanical components and systems per technical documentation.
• Conduct on-site installations of fabricated parts and equipment, ensuring fit and function.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of machining equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues during fabrication and installation phases.
• Adhere to strict safety procedures and quality control standards.
