Job summary

GE Vernova's Grid Automation R&D team seeks a Lead Power Systems Protection & Control Applications Engineer to bridge complex power-system theory and real-world algorithm implementation. The role focuses on producing detailed design specifications for protection and control algorithms and driving cross-functional collaboration across product teams.

Responsibilities include PoC studies with PSCAD/RTDS/MATLAB, root-cause analysis, and sharing knowledge through training and technical papers.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in protection and control system design and studies.
• Experience developing detailed design specifications for P&C algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed design specifications for P&C algorithms.
• Conduct proof of concept studies using PSCAD/RTDS/MATLAB.
• Lead root-cause analysis of protection-related incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve algorithm/product issues.
• Publish technical papers and present at industry events.
• Prepare training material and deliver courses when required.
• Identify patentable innovations for GE Vernova’s IP portfolio.
