UST is seeking a Java Technical Lead to drive a high-performing development team on a project for a global leader in credit services. You will guide technical direction, ensure high-quality API-based software, and promote best practices across the SDLC.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture (SOA/ microservices), and contribute to DevOps in a fast-paced, regulated environment. A strong focus on delivery and scalability is expected.

Qualificações

• 6–7 years of Java development and API building experience.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Experience with REST APIs, AWS services, Gradle or Maven, and Enterprise Jenkins.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a Java Technical Lead to join our team and contribute to a project for one of our global customers, a global leader in credit cards, auto loans, banking and savings accounts.

You will lead the development team from a technical perspective, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable and maintainable software while promoting engineering best practices and supporting the professional growth of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Define coding standards and best practices and ensure adherence to them.
• Mentor and coach junior developers to enhance their skills and performance.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the team.
• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable software.
• Work within a DevOps "you build it, you own it, you run it" model, ensuring stable and smooth maintenance of delivered software.
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications.
• Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including occasional QA activities and peer reviews.
• Work towards the goals and vision articulated by Product Management.
• Drive innovation within the team and contribute within your technical domain.

Key Requirements

• At least 6-7 years of Java programming skills and experience building APIs.
• Deep understanding of all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Deep understanding of design patterns and principles, including SOLID principles.
• Experience with different testing types: Unit Testing, API Testing, Acceptance Testing and Load Testing.
• Experience with distributed architectures such as SOA or Microservices Architecture (MSA).
• Experience with event-driven architectures.
• Strong experience with REST APIs.
• Relevant experience with AWS services.
• Experience with Gradle or Maven.
• Experience with Enterprise Jenkins.
• Experience working in an Agile environment, such as Scrum or SAFe.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a highly regulated environment, particularly banking or financial services.
• Experience with Docker.
• AWS certification.
• Experience with serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and AWS Fargate.
• Experience with TDD and BDD.
