Job summary

Embat is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Madrid finance team. You’ll manage day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-growth fintech, support automation of supplier invoices, perform daily bank reconciliations, and assist monthly closings to ensure accuracy.

The role requires 2–5 years of accounting experience, a degree in business/finance, and strong Excel skills. We value ownership, proactive problem solving, and a startup mindset in a hybrid Madrid setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in accounting or finance operations.
• Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or related fields.
• Solid understanding of the full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations in a high-growth fintech environment.
• Support the automation of supplier invoice processes.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations using Embat.
• Support monthly closing activities and ensure accounting accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable operations.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic tax filings.
• Support the preparation of documentation for annual audits.
• Detect accounting inconsistencies and resolve issues proactively before escalation.
• Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure data reliability.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve and optimize accounting processes.
