Job summary

Morningstar is seeking a Data Research Analyst to process portfolio data across global markets from our Madrid-based Data and Development Centre EMEA. The analyst will ensure data coverage, quality, and timeliness while collaborating with the Portfolio Team and Local Business Representatives.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of Morningstar experience, fluent English and another European language, strong writing and analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial data and

Qualifications

• Fluent English and at least one other European language are mandatory.
• Solid understanding of the financial industry and investment data.
• Excellent writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, capable of handling high volumes of data and meeting strict deadlines.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Morningstar, ideally in data management.
• Expertise in Morningstar data, methodology, quality and processes.
• Strong knowledge of derivative investments is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and maintain Morningstar data with high accuracy and coverage.
• Meet production deadlines for internal and external clients.
• Collaborate with global data teams.
• Evaluate procedures and implement process improvement projects.
• Be an expert on investment data points and calculations and respond to data team escalations.
• Maintain relationships with fund companies and 3rd party data providers.
• Stay updated on financial regulations (e.g., Solvency II, MiFID II).
• Drive Lean Six Sigma improvements and automation.
• Support portfolio capabilities by testing incoming templates (TPT+, APT).
• Collaborate with Legal and fund companies.
