Job summary

Kharon, based in Madrid, is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist for Retrieval & Agentic Systems. This hybrid role blends research and production work on content discovery, search, and narrative generation, within a collaborative Engineering team.

You will own end-to-end problems, prototype and deploy solutions, and work closely with Product and Data Science to shape product direction in global risk intelligence.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Data Science, AI/ML Engineering, or related software roles.
• Hands-on experience in information retrieval, including lexical search, embeddings, vector search, hybrid retrieval, ranking, and evaluation.
• Experience building LLM-powered apps, RAG pipelines, or agentic workflows.
• Strong Python skills and engineering discipline for production systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and advance content discovery in Corestream and improve customer discovery capabilities.
• Redesign hybrid search to enable new content discovery using BM25 tuning, semantic distance, RAG, reranking, and graph signals.
• Explore and build discovery experiences like agentic search, personalized feeds, and knowledge connections.
• Drive evolution of narrative generation to transform data into written intelligence for customers.
• Own problems end-to-end from opportunity to deployment and production improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and Engineering to influence priorities and architecture.
