Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Head of Risk in Spain to lead the development of a proactive risk function across enterprise, regulatory, and operational risk for a growing fintech. You will report to the CEO, guide governance, and balance innovation with regulatory compliance across crypto and traditional payments.

You will build risk processes for licensing, onboarding, and ongoing oversight, partnering with finance, compliance, and product teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of risk management experience in financial services or fintech.
• 3–4+ years in senior risk leadership (Head of Risk, VP of Risk) with decision‑making authority.
• Direct experience in regulated fintech, EMI/PSP, or cryptocurrency businesses.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one: DORA, MiCA, or PSD2; familiarity with UK FCA resilience requirements.
• End‑to‑End risk ownership: responsible for risk frameworks, controls and outcomes.
• Strategic judgment: set clear risk position and practical solutions under pressure.
• Business‑oriented communication: translate risk into clear business implications for executives.
• Regulatory and governance capabilities across risk governance and resilience.
• Fluent professional English with strong written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise risk framework, taxonomy, appetite, tolerances, and three‑lines‑of‑defence model.
• Deliver risk dashboards and board/leadership reporting; oversee regulatory risk reporting.
• Lead DORA ICT risk requirements, incident classification and third‑party ICT risk assessments.
• Establish frameworks for licensing and regulatory expansion across Europe and the UK.
• Design onboarding and monitoring frameworks for partners; manage concentration risk.
• Collaborate with Finance to monitor crypto price exposure, liquidity, and capital adequacy.
• Oversee business continuity, disaster recovery, vendor risk, and incident reporting.
• Define a consistent fraud risk appetite across products and geographies.
• Embed risk reviews into product development and market expansion decisions.
• Chair risk committee; promote accountability and scalable risk governance.
• Transform risk registers and control frameworks into practical, decision‑oriented actions.
