Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking a Compliance Officer (Regulatory Focus) specializing in e-money and payments to manage EMI/PSD2 authorizations and ongoing regulatory obligations across EU/UK markets. This remote-friendly role requires drafting governance, engaging with regulators, and overseeing safeguarding frameworks within a fast-moving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional experience in regulatory compliance, authorization, licensing, policy development, or governance drafting.
• Minimum of 3 years working within an EEA or UK-authorized electronic money institution or payment institution.
• Proven ability to draft governance and internal control narratives, regulatory policies, procedures, or safeguarding documentation for an authorization application.
• Experience engaging with a national competent authority or the FCA, explaining regulatory feedback and how issues were addressed.
• Strong expertise in safeguarding requirements, including fund segregation, reconciliation, breach reporting, and audit preparation.
• Working knowledge of EMD2, PSD2, UK electronic money and payment services regulations, outsourcing, and wind-down planning.
• Familiarity with DORA, AML directives, FATF standards, sanctions requirements, and governance expectations.
• Ability to interpret legislation and translate into clear internal controls and documentation.
• Excellent written and spoken English with regulator-ready documentation.
• Residence in Europe with overlap with the European working day.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMI authorization workstreams across EEA, coordinating documents, governance descriptions, and internal control narrations.
• Manage FCA EMI workstreams, safeguarding arrangements, and AML governance documentation.
• Develop and oversee safeguarding frameworks across EEA/UK, including fund segregation and audit readiness.
• Support PSD2 authorization and ongoing compliance obligations.
• Prepare regulatory submissions and regulator correspondence with accuracy and defensibility.
• Assess regulatory implications of products, payments flows, outsourcing, and distributor arrangements.
• Perform regulatory gap analyses and remediation for policies and controls.
• Interpret legislation and translate requirements into practical internal controls and documentation.
• Monitor changes in EU/UK payments regulation affecting EMI/PI operations.
• Maintain governance documentation and readiness for supervisory reviews and audits.
• Collaborate with Global Chief of Compliance to prioritize initiatives and milestones.
• Contribute to internal policies and controls for e-money and payments.
