Spendesk is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead a multi-disciplinary group of 20–30 engineers across Europe. You will set technical and organisational direction, build a leadership team, own economics and reliability, and report to the CTO.

You will partner with Product, Design and Data to drive impact and growth. You’ll champion observability, hiring strategy, and end-to-end delivery while shaping Spendesk’s engineering leadership journey across AI-augmented initiatives.

Formación

• 8+ years in software engineering with increasing scope and leadership
• Track record delivering complex multi-stakeholder SaaS programmes on time and on budget
• Hands-on experience operating distributed systems at scale
• Comfort with TS/Node/React/AWS stack; reading code and challenging it
• Strong business acumen: unit economics, ROI, trade-offs
• Proven ability to grow managers into better leaders

Responsabilidades

• Define the multi-quarter technical and organisational strategy for your group.
• Drive architectural decisions and simplification across your domain; establish clear boundaries and platform thinking.
• Own the group’s economics: cost-to-serve, infra efficiency, hiring ROI, with quarterly rationale.
• Be accountable for delivery and outcomes across the full portfolio of squads with quality.
• Establish KPIs, SLOs, and operating rhythms for autonomous team performance.
• Build and coach a leadership team of EMs, Senior EMs, and Staff Engineers.
• Represent Engineering in company-wide forums and partner with Product, Design, Data and Customer teams.
• Champion diversity and inclusion in hiring and leadership development.
