Job summary

Permira in Madrid is seeking an Associate in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to own the analysis of operating expenses by employee and to support budgeting, forecasting and the 10-year plan. The role focuses on turning granular data into accurate forecasts and budgets, with opportunities to employ AI tools to streamline reporting and data management.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial insights to senior management, contributing to the firm’s planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Engineering.
• 1–2 years of experience in FP&A, controlling, audit or a data related function.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret large, granular financial datasets.
• Advanced in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with experience in financial modelling. Power Query, Python, SQL or AI tools such as Claude are a plus.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Curiosity and drive to learn, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and an interest in applying AI and automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Actuals Analysis: Analyze OPEX actuals down to transaction and employee level and challenge budget holders.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets and forecasts from transactional and headcount data.
• 10-Year Plan: Support the 10YrP process with a 360° view of the plan.
• Reporting and Presentation: Prepare financial reports and present findings to senior management.
• Data Management and Transformation: Ensure data integrity and automate data collection and reporting.
• Collaboration: Work with Accounting, Fund Operations and HR to gather information and meet deadlines.
