SD Worx is seeking a FinOps Tech Lead in Madrid to own cloud financial management across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will drive cost visibility, governance, and optimization with engineering, finance, and product teams.

You will lead tagging, dashboards, real-time spend monitoring, and budgeting automation, mentor FinOps engineers, and shape cost strategies while balancing technical depth with financial governance.

• Strong understanding of FinOps principles, cloud economics, and cost optimization.
• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tagging strategies.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools.
• Excellent financial analysis, forecasting, and business case development skills.
• Leadership experience in cross-functional teams and stakeholder management.

About the role:

As a FinOps Tech Lead, you will lead the cloud financial management strategy, ensuring cost efficiency, accountability, and optimization across multi-cloud environments. You will combine technical leadership and financial governance, working closely with engineering, finance, and product teams to drive data-driven decisions, automation, and cost transparency.

Key Result Areas

• FinOps Strategy & Architecture – Define and lead the roadmap for cloud cost optimization and financial governance.
• Cost Visibility & Accountability – Implement tagging strategies, dashboards, and reporting for real-time cost insights.
• Automation & Tooling – Drive automation for cost anomaly detection, budget alerts, and resource optimization.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management – Partner with finance, procurement, and engineering teams to align cost strategies.
• Technical Leadership & Mentorship – Guide FinOps engineers and foster a culture of cost efficiency and financial discipline.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead cloud financial management practices across AWS, Azure, and other platforms.

• Drive automation initiatives for cost reporting and forecasting.

• Mentor team members and lead knowledge-sharing sessions on FinOps best practices.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and tagging strategies.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation tools.
• Excellent financial analysis, forecasting, and business case development skills.
• Leadership experience in cross-functional teams and stakeholder management.
• Degree in IT, Finance, or related field.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to balance technical depth with financial governance.
• Proactive, analytical, and strategic thinker.
